Two paths. One standard.

Altura’s story began back in 2007, when Matt Paternoster and Ieuan Hughes first worked together in hospitality at Pizza Hut. Those early shifts shaped a shared understanding of what great service looks like – and how much the right team matters.

Matt went on to build nearly 20 years of hospitality experience, progressing through professional kitchens to Head Chef before moving into recruitment. Over the past decade, he has successfully built and led multiple hospitality divisions from the ground up, supporting thousands of businesses across the industry.

Ieuan followed a different path, combining over 20 years in hospitality with a background in business operations, finance and large-scale workforce delivery. With more than five years in recruitment, including leading major stadium and events teams, he brings the operational structure that supports Altura’s growth.

Altura was founded to bring that combined experience together – supported by strategic investment from Clifford Herbertson – with a simple goal: to deliver recruitment that understands hospitality from the inside.
